I spent 18 hours over two days last week trying to upload my high content, heavily illustrated book. It is a large file but less than the maximum. The upload failed at least 12 times at over an hour of uploading each time. I spent the last six hours of the second day with chat support. The first one told me that I didn't put in a page count - there is no place to put in a page count. Then it went downhill from there. I must have gone through at least 8 different chat people - if they are people. Chat support gave me a link - twice - to upload it so they can look at it - both times the upload was successful - both times they told me it wasn't there. They told me to save as draft when the upload failed to my books but when I did that I got an error that the feature wasn't available. The only way to get out of the error was to refresh the page which deletes the upload that failed. When I told chat that, the person would leave the conversation! Someone else would come in and ask "what can I help you with today?". I would have to start all over explaining the problem. After six hours of chat "support" I got frustrated, couldn't type, couldn't think and then they told me that if I can't upload it - as if it was my fault - then there is nothing they can do. I wonder if they are blocking books at the upload process. I have one other book I created last year which uploaded easily with no errors. I can't bring myself to even try again with my beautiful book that I worked on for 9 months.

They cant beat it without affecting people who put in time and talent they should just stop!!!! I have decided to diversify, i would open a shopify store, and print and ship some of my books so all of them wont be on kdp.

I have had my books on summaries and travel guides blocked. always the same story... disappointing customer experience

This video is so "on-point" that I can't even express it. I hope it goes viral within the writing community because the blogs are encouraging writers to use AI to write whole entire books, with no editing, nothing and KDP has already fixed its algorithm to check and find these things on impact. It is a great tool for research but is causing complacency within the author's creativity! It imposes these stringent rules on everyone.

Thank you, Nouria, for your efforts. That is really what we do and say about why Amazon is blocking and terminating our account. You've really explained what we are doing and how to do it best. I've got a question. Many people do this, and I'm one of them. We stuff many keywords in the title and subtitles because titles rank better than the back end keywords. My question is, if we put only keywords in 7 slot, will our books rank as well as if we put them in the title and subtitle? ❤❤❤❤❤

I love AI tools and think they are an important part of helping with faster research, acting as a writing assistant, and creating beautiful images. For me, its about using AI tools with care and thoughfulness. I think some people using AI tools don't care about the quality and there is too much detail, fuzzy lines and greyscale for coloring books, some book makers just don't care about quality or the customer user experience - I would not buy some of those books. I use ai to make coloring books, but I go to great lengths in my ai edits to remove greyscale and artifacts, and upscaling so the lines are sharp and clean, and spent a long time perfecting a prompt that gives me great images - I go to great lengths to make my AI books look like they are not created by AI - but it takes a bit of extra time per image to make it look just right for the customer. 💕💕💕🌻🌻🌻🌻

I use AI to structure my content. Letting it write entire books would be terrible. I want my books to sound like me and include my personal experiences.

Hi Nuria! I agree that it needs to be used in the right way. Recently I tried to write my own children's book - but then I used Ai to make some improvements to what I wrote myself and I think it did a great job. Like you said, if you do not have experience and knowledge in a subject - don't be using Ai just to write it for you. Definitely not a good idea.

Great and very interesting video about creating escape rooms. The package mentioned in this video is excellent and contains many images, frames and backgrounds. However, don't expect an application which creates escape rooms for you. This package gives you everything you need to design and build an escape room. This bundle will not disappoint you, I can highly recommend it.

The issue is, even if u follow all this, if an account has a book blocked before, it'll be difficult for another book that has not gone against this to go live on that account

But it's okay for celebs to get ghost writers to wirite their books for em. The problem is as always not what you do, its the way that you do it. Always that is true. It's a tool than many abuse to make or try to make easy money. A typewriter does the typing for you but you must do the typing? What if you had to set each block with a stamped letter on it and dip it in ink and place it besides other blocks to string together a book? Is doing that cheating also, you didnt create the block? What about travel, should we stop driving cars because we are not the car, we can walk much better than cars can? Using AI is the same as in all areas of life. Joe Blogs runs some kids over at 50mph on a 40mph road and then we all have to suffer 30 pmh limits and speedbumps in the road. The many suffer because the unscrupulously selfish ones abuse a car, a typwriter or AI. And everyone else suffers. In short, the fault isnt the tool, the AI, the typwriter, the typset blocks or the car. It's the unscrupulous (or not) mind behind the wheel. I spent the whole day today creating a great little software/website using chatgpt, should I dump it because someone else thinks that because I'm not a developer I should not have the ability to create an app? Should they (the developers) stop being developers and selling their wares because they use word documents and other TOOLS to create websites and such. I don't abuse anything so I will do what I darn well please. Sorry. Not really, but you get the meaning. As I said, its not what you do, its the way that you do it. ALWAYS!

There are FAR too many RUclips channels out there pushing an AI narrative that the AI will just write the book for you, then you go in and give the polish. It does not work. AI is not the answer and is just a scheme for these channels to make money on viewers, not actually publishing. If it were real, these people would have a large list on their resume. Many do not. Fact check these channels before buying into their narrative. Look them up on Amazon, Kobo, or other publishing sites. You will most likely find a stray book or two, maybe nothing.

AI is Artificial for a reason. Large Language models are just strings of code that scrape data from various sources. These sources are guessed from an algorithm, not some embedded sense of "emotion" or "creativity" in these AIs. Until the day comes that we reach The Singularity, creativity will never exist in AI and even then, creativity will be hard to extract. AI creativity is not based upon that of the human consciousness nor imagination. It combines scraped data in a unique way. Period. From the other side of the fence, however, for novel writers who like to use plot prompting AI comes in handy to generate small starter scenarios.

issue started when i tried to update 7 keywords of my 3rd book. after that each of my new book start to be blocked.

Well said, Nuria! I completely agree with your view on the topic. AI is a great TOOL, but should not replace the author.

The best book I read in 2024 is a book called Learn Build Grow. Honestly it's way better and more useful than any of the other books I have read this year, worth every cent. It inspired me to start my own book, decided on crosswords. Hope I can publish soon.

How can I get my book across to you for review so I can publish without mistake

I formatted a cover on Canva but the upload was wrong, all I had was a corner of the cover. I ended up using Cover Creator which doesn't have a great selection.

I have been selling my coloring books on Amazon since October 23. Making steady regular sales. Amazon ads suspended my account last week due to "suspicious activity" . No explanation they say - " we're unable to provide specific details regarding these activities due to internal policies." ?????????

This is true ma,am, i watch some channels that are advising new publishers to copy books from a free site and paraphrase them and upload on Amazon. It was really a big issue

Thank you for another great video. ❤ Although I have to add, that there is still the same problem of a very small number of images (30), available for use PER NICHE. So even if there are only 100 KDP publishers using the Vault subscription to create coloring books, for example, then they still only have a very limited amount of images PER THEME to choose from. If there are a 1,000 KDP publisher's using these themes from their vault subscription, then the re-use of the pre-made images is even worse! So it's no different than using images from Canva, or any other source, due to 1,000's of self-publishers making coloring books in the popular themes, with the small number of images to choose from overall, the problem of all of those coloring books from KDP publishers looking the same, continues on. Someone had mentioned there are over 40,000 coloring books out there on Amazon, and I am sure that the high numbers are due to KDP publishers flooding the market with coloring books that all have that "same" feel because by now, they have all more than used and re-used the pre-made artwork available. That means they have most likely already exhausted the use of those images in their coloring books, because those characters and backgrounds would have repeatedly been used in those Vault member's KDP coloring books.
